Metro 2 account status code 95: voluntary surrender
You returned the collateral, usually a vehicle, because you couldn't keep paying. After the lender sells it, a balance may still be owed. Lease early terminations are supposed to use other codes, not this one. A payment rating goes with this status.
How it shows on your report
"Voluntary surrender" or "Surrendered," often with VS in the grid.
How it affects your score
A serious negative, treated by many lenders much like a repossession.
What to check
Check that the sale price was credited and that the remaining balance matches the deficiency letter you received. If you turned in a leased car under the lease's own early-termination terms, a voluntary surrender status may be the wrong code.
