Metro 2 account status code 65: paid in full, foreclosure was started
The mortgage went far enough into default that foreclosure began, but the loan was then paid in full, for example through a sale or refinance before the foreclosure finished. A payment rating goes with it to show how delinquent the loan was at payoff.
How it shows on your report
Something like "Paid, foreclosure started" with a $0 balance and a closed date.
How it affects your score
A serious negative because of the delinquency that led to foreclosure, though less severe in a lender's eyes than a completed foreclosure.
What to check
Balance should be zero. Make sure this isn't reported as a completed foreclosure (status 94), since mortgage programs set different waiting periods for each. Check that the final payment rating matches how far behind the loan really was when it was paid.
