Metro 2 special comment code BA: transferred to recovery
The account was moved to the lender's recovery unit after serious delinquency, which is where many lenders handle accounts they consider in default. Furnisher software allows it only with delinquent, collection or charge-off type statuses, so it never belongs on a current account.
How it shows on your report
A remark like "Transferred to recovery."
How it affects your score
Accompanies serious delinquency, which is the main negative.
What to check
The status should be a delinquent, collection or charge-off status, never current. If the debt was later sold or paid, the original lender's balance should be $0. Check that the delinquency date stays the same as the account moves between departments.
