Special comment code
A Metro 2 field furnishers use to attach standardized remarks to an account, such as a note about a payment arrangement.
CDIA's Metro 2 training covers special comment codes alongside compliance condition codes, including how they interact with payment status fields, and points to an exhibit listing which comments fit which kinds of accounts. On your report, a special comment shows up as a short remark under the account. It adds context, while the account status and payment history still describe how the account was paid.
Remarks deserve a careful read because they can be wrong too. A comment describing a payment plan you never agreed to, or one that lingers after your situation changed, is an inaccuracy you can dispute with the furnisher or the bureau. Disputed-status remarks come from the separate compliance condition code, which mortgage underwriters watch closely.
See every special comment codes in plain English, with what each one means and what to check on your report.
