Metro 2 compliance condition code XG: billing dispute resolved, consumer disagrees
The card issuer finished its review of your Fair Credit Billing Act billing dispute, and you still disagree with the result. The remark records that disagreement. It's the billing-dispute counterpart to XC, which covers disagreement after a Fair Credit Reporting Act investigation, and it stays until the issuer changes or removes it.
How it shows on your report
A remark that a billing dispute was resolved and the consumer disagrees.
How it affects your score
Similar to other dispute flags in underwriting.
What to check
If the issuer later reversed the charge or you accepted the outcome, ask that the remark be removed. If you keep disputing in writing, the issuer can't report the amount as delinquent without also reporting that you dispute it.
