Metro 2 compliance condition code XF: billing dispute under the Fair Credit Billing Act
You disputed a billing error on a credit card or other open-end account under the Fair Credit Billing Act. While the issuer investigates, it can't report the disputed amount as delinquent. It applies to billing errors such as charges you didn't make or goods you didn't receive, not to general disagreements about your credit history.
How it shows on your report
"Account in dispute" or a billing-dispute remark.
How it affects your score
The disputed amount shouldn't be reported as late while the billing dispute is pending.
What to check
If you sent a written billing-error notice and the account shows a late for the disputed charge with no dispute remark, that's a problem worth raising with the card issuer in writing.
