Metro 2 compliance condition code XC: dispute investigated, consumer disagrees
The furnisher finished investigating your Fair Credit Reporting Act dispute and you still disagree with its result. The flag keeps your disagreement on the record instead of erasing the fact that you disputed. It typically replaces the open-dispute flag XB and stays until the furnisher sends a different code or removes it.
How it shows on your report
Wording similar to "Dispute resolved, consumer disagrees."
How it affects your score
Similar to an open dispute flag in underwriting. Some mortgage lenders ask you to resolve or remove it before closing.
What to check
If you've accepted the outcome or no longer want the remark, ask the furnisher to remove it. If you still disagree, a written consumer statement filed with the bureau can explain your side.
