Metro 2 compliance condition code XD: closed by consumer and disputed
Two facts at once: you closed the account yourself, and you have an open dispute about it under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. It combines the consumer-closed code XA with the open-dispute code XB, because the field carries one code at a time and both conditions need to show.
How it shows on your report
Both a consumer-closed remark and a dispute remark.
How it affects your score
Same considerations as an open dispute flag.
What to check
When the dispute is resolved, the code should change to one that keeps the consumer-closed fact without the open dispute, or to the matching resolved code. A dispute flag that lingers after you've received the results can hold up a mortgage application.
